Kawasaki’s research focuses on heteroepitaxy of Heusler and intermetallic thin films; thermoelectrics; topological insulators; engineering electronic; and magnetic properties via strain and quantum confinement, molecular beam epitaxy, scanning tunneling microscopy, photoemission spectroscopy.
