Rudraraju’s research focuses on the computational modeling of mechanics and multiphysics driven microstructural/morphological processes in materials. He models emergent phenomena involving multiscale/multiphysics interactions using advanced numerical techniques and high performance scientific computing.
This work draws heavily from continuum physics, solid mechanics, thermodynamics and variational methods, and involves developing phenomenological description of the constituent processes, numerical formulation of the governing equations and developing scalable code infrastructure.
